I don’t get to write about music as much as I would like to. Partially because I have fallen out of love with most black metal, but every now and then I find a gem that’s hard to suppress that urge. I stumbled across this band by complete accident and I can’t say I’m mad about it. The Phantom Carriage is a five-piece “blackened dark hardcore” band from Poitiers, FRA who mix the genres extremely well. Released in febuarary of this year, TPC would be more aptly descriped as a “blackened opposite of december era poison the well band”. Catchy tribal drums, atmospheric dirgy guitar riffs, occasional heartfelt clean vocal passages. As if the band took the best elements of Converge and Poison the Well and mixed them up with some
Si Monumentum Requires, Circumspice riffs and bam there you have it!
